Does anyone using fire burner? I need some advise please?
Do you leave some fire woods next to the fire in piles or in basket? And what the ofsted prefer? And when you need to put more woods, what do you do with the minde?
I'm lucky so far we not that cold, so I only put fire on before minde come, n my fire will last until mindee gone.
Can I leAve mindee (smaller one) in the other room in the high chair for example, when I do the fire if I need?
Thank you

Hi there,
I have an open fire and a burner (burner not connected yet). We keep logs in a basket in the living room and coal in a scuttle next to the fire. We only use a spark guard at thr moment because we don't light the fire when the children are here. We have a larger guard which we will attach when it gets colder. I have a 2.5 yrs and 3 yrs mindees but if I was to have a crawler or young toddler I would do ra's before they start. Ofsted said nothing about the wood and coal, only breifly mentioned the guard and even them it was quick! In fact she liked the fireplace!! One thing I do check every time I bring the logs in is for sharp bits sticking out at child level.
Hope that helps a bit

Thanks Amo,
I have large fire guard that covered the whole fire, but lately my dear husband piling the woods next to the fire so it will be easier and quicker for me to put it in fire rather than have to get out the house even more danger leaving the littlen?
thank you, will look at my RA again now

Sorry for delay have had flu:(
We've done that before, leave the wood right next to the fire. Haven't done it yet with mindees but I don't see a problem with it. I still haven't put up the large fire guard as it's going to make the living room even smaller but i will have to soon as it's getting colder. My 2 mindees sleep in there on the sofas so I wouldn't bother lighting until late afternoon anyway. I love my fire!

Me too. I only put fire on about an hour before they come (afternoon one) buy now I have a box that I keep some woods in (enough for when mindee here) and coal bucket etc inside the fire guards. Just had my grading inspection yesterday, she doesn't make any comment at all about my fire.
