Can you leave a mindee in a room with an inspector while you put another mindee up for a nap?

I was just wondering what the rules are about leaving a room when it is an inspector. I dont generally have visitors but when I did on one occasion I took the kids with me to get X so that no child was in the room alone (apart from my own son), also when making lunch usually kids sit in the living room at the table while I get it, but when I had this visitor they came in the kitchen with me.

its not a stupid question if you need to know the answer!:)

There are no 'rules' as such and unfortunately we can never predict what is ok with one inspector another will frown upon.

My inspector was a tartar however she was ok about me leaving a mindee in the room with her briefly - as she pointed out - she has been crb'd and i have seen her credentials.
that said - I prefer to take my mindees with me - my charges my responsibility and at the end of the day my mindees don't know her (well enough) and she could be naff with kids!

I have this problem, my daughter goes to bed upstairs and my mindee is 11 months old and I have to leave him on his own to put my girl up to bed as I'm not registered for upstairs due to having no locks on my windows so I can't take the mindee with me.

I've now starting putting him in the travel cot with a couple of books whilst I put my LO up to bed as then I know he is safe and cannot hurt himself

I don' have locks on my windows and I have my upstairs registered!

Was going to come back on this thread and suggest as you have done... put mindee in travel cot when you go upstairs

Mindee who I take upstairs for a nap is 15 m/o however the other mindee is 2.5 and there is my son who is 3. I usually quickly pop up I am barely 30 seconds (I have a tiny house lol) and come back down again. My living room is child friendly and they are usually playing quietly or at the table. It is not a question of mindees safety, more of how the inspector will look at me leaving them with someone I or they do not know, albeit for less than one minute

The inspector I had said children could open my windows and fall out and die. Word for word that is what she said :o

When my inspector was here last week I left the 15mo downstairs whilst I took my dd to the toilet... I made sure he was safe and had something to occupy him and he was happy with the Mrs O been there... when my 18mo turned up he was very wary of Mrs O so I took him with me.

When Mrs O questioned me, as 15mo decided to try to climb on the little chair whilst I was gone... I did say that he's comfortable with my setting, he was in the play area and that and my lounge are all child friendly and that the gate was closed so couldn't get any further... as for the chair climbing that was new today so obviously it is something I will watch carefully and assess when I go to the bathroom on next visit - but must make a note to add that to his achievements :) - she seemed happy with the situation - guess we'll see what my report says when it in!!

As you say depending on what you are doing you can be back within seconds.

The travel cot is an option I did that when LO was younger.
