Hi
Having inspection 1st,3rd or 4th Nov.
A little annoyed as agency called 2 weeks ago and confirmed that it would take place Monday, Tuesday or this Friday. Inspector phoned yesterday to introduce herself and asked when I was available. I told her that I was expecting her this week and she said that she was full this week and does not work school holidays so it will now be after half term. So now have to wait another 2 weeks!!!. My last inspection was March 2009.

I know it's frustrating but take the time to get ideas from friends and on here about what to do to create the wow factor.
I had an inspection in the holidays once and it was much harder than term time because the children were different and my 2 were in the house.
Good luck with it all!

Debbie they should be making a day and time specific appointment for all inspections. This is a direct instruction from Ofsted who wrote to Tribal and Prospects earlier this year to tell them to do this.
Especially as they have mucked you around I would call the inspector and reminder her of the Ofsted Directive and get her to book a specific day and time with you.
Out of interest which company is it because Prospects told me in August that their inspectors no longer ring cms before an inspection.

I was contacted by Ofsted on Friday 30th September asking for me to give them 3 dates i was available for Ofsted to come out to me for my overdue (5yrs) Inspection. I said the baby that is due to start with me dosent start till Tuesday 4th October and i only have him 2 days a week Tues & Wed and every other Thur as he goes to Nursery the other 2 days. Would have really been unfair of them to come on my first week or so. So gave them 18th & 19th October, they also wanted another date before the end of October, which i could not give as the following week was half term and his grandma was having him as she off school and dosent get to see him that much. They then asked the next date i was having him so i said Tues 1st November, they said that was too late as they had to get me done before end of October.
I am still waiting and have not had any call from the Inspector at all, have been in just in case they came on speck. So will now have to see what Tues 1st November brings. I convinced myself it was going to be Tues 4th October as they needed to get me done before end of October, i was ready and bit more confident for that day, feel so flat now, wished they would not have you hanging on like this, do they not realise what this does to you, at the moment i just don't seem as confident feeling as i did. Don't know if that is good or bad.
Oh well what will be will be, no point dwelling on it, think positive, and just me myself i guess. They did say if HE is not with me by 10am HE wont be coming. So that tells me it will be a MALE, they never gave a name, so when i answer the door, who am i checking identity details for??? I now wait to see. Beter go now and get my house clean and tidy ater having 3 young grandkids being here for the week, and re-look/check at childminding paper work that i still need to do.

Hi
It was prospect and it happened to a couple of the inspectors as the call centre was not communicating with inspectors.
anyway she has been and gone.
got good overall with areas of outstanding.
2 recommendations fire blanket on wall as was in cupboard and get a copy of risk assessment completed at the childminding groups that i attend at childrens centres to proove that they have done them before we get there.
