Well that's Ofsted out the way for another few years. I got an overall of satisfactory my risk assessment wasn't in depth enough and I didn't have a parental responsibility form. She said overall cleanliness was good but as a piece of wallpaper was torn a child could rip it and put it in their mouth so had to put satisfactory.
She wanted me to open my fire blanket and check it but it's a single use one. Does anyone know how often you should replace them?
She. Didn't even ask about my first aid box.

I think you should wait for the report to see what is said - in case she did not explain very well or you have misunderstood.
But a piece of torn wallpaper should not make you satisfactory in keeping children safe - mine play in a pol full of shredded paper - they rip paper to wrap pretend presents, they tear of paper from the roll if they want to write a list - and so on
I have never had a fire blanket checked - fire blankets are mentioned as an example of equipment to have.My fire blanket does not have a date - it does say that every 12 months it should be unfolded, checked and re folded - there are instructions on the back to refold. It is a single use one.
As for risk assessments - do you have a main one for the setting which is done at least once a year - as ythat is a specific legal requirement
As I say wait for the report but if not hasppy - complain

Last night ( the night before my inspection) I flicked through this forum and saw all the comments about parental responsibility and legal contact....... Had completely missed that one so thank you for mentioning it on here... You saved my life ( well my job - cos its a legal requirement!!) I had to produce forms for my parents to sign this morning--- some of them in the playground !! During the inspection she asked me had I got them and i showed her them and being honest I said I had but I had only just done them but as long as I had them now that was all ok...
Also thank you to Sarah707 ( hope you see this!) for your wonderful e books ..... The inspector loved my SEF . Well I'm back to my bucks fizz .... I can't say what I was graded yet but it's a long word beginning with O !

My risk assessment was a checklist, she said it has to be more detailed and I hadn't signed it. To be fair I didn't realise I had to as there is only me.
The parental form is for who has parental responsibility for the child I suppose it makes sense with single parents and extended families.
I am going to wait for the the report and see exactly what she has said. I thought she came across as quite rude really. She didn't like my laminate flooring as little ones learning to walk could slip, she didn't like the trousers he was wearing as they had turn ups which could come down and trip him, she didn't like he doesn't eat fruit whilst with me but mum provides all food including snacks and she was quite disgusted that he has a dummy even though it was on the table and only had it when I put him down to sleep.

I mentioned about the fire blanket to mr network coordinator and they do have a 5 year life span so should be changed every 5 years something I was not aware of.
