can anybody tell me what the proper temps for fridges and freezers are,

fridge ideal is 5 degress and freezer ideal is between -12 and -22 I think:)

Fridge should be anywhere between 1-5 degrees

Freezer should be between -18 to -22 degrees.

Make sure your fridge/freezer stays clean and in good working condition:

• Use a thermometer to check fridge and freezer temperatures. The coldest part of the fridge should be at no more than +5°C and the freezer at –18°C or below.
• Avoid overloading. If a fridge is over-packed with food or iced up it’s harder to keep the temperature down.
• Clean all internal and external surfaces often, especially fridge shelves and door storage compartments. Mop up any spills as soon as they happen.
• Defrost your fridge/freezer regularly.

I have either got a dodgy fridge or my 2 thermometers are broken. Both therms say 2 degrees but the yoghurts are frozen and the meat I took out yesterday morning is still frozen too. :mad:

I find yoghurts freeze at about 2c especially if they are at the back... :D

My fridge is 2 degrees (but things do get ice in them if they are right at the back or touch the sides) and my freezer is -20 degrees.

Dh is a head chef so it is his area of expertise and these are the temperatures that he set for our new fridge/freezer - it's american one with ice and water dispenser and it's lovely this time of year! :D
