i had a call today from ofsted to tell me i will be having my grading inspection next week. i have a 16 month daughter and 14 month mindee. anyone got any ideas what activities i can do with them to impress the inspector?

I would keep it simple, remember you will already be distracted and stressed with the inspector there so don't make it any more difficult. Play with a few toys they like, read a book or do some singing, the inspector will just want to see how you interact with them.

I would take your lead from the children - you know what they like to do, stick with that and just go with the flow.

don't worry about activities, i had two this age on an inspection, and was worried before as most activities don't always go to plan with this age in the end i left it down to free play and the inspector actually commented that it was nice to see the children playing freely and not at set activities, just make sure you have plenty of choice around, i had out a box of instruments, box of books, box of puzzles just stuff like that, you could always collect a box of autumn stuff to bring out if you feel you need to half way through.

thank you for your advice. i normally take them out to the library, but i will just go with the flow and see what the kids want to do.
