Had a phone call late this afternoon and I am being assesed on Monday morning to start my NVQ3. :panic:
Could anyone please tell me what to expect? is there anything i should do or have ready etc?????

Sorry I can't really help, as I didnt get assessed to start my NVQ apart from doing a simple multiple choice maths and english test x Just wanted to say good luck x

My assessor came for the first time last week. I had 40 minutes to do a numeracy and literacy test and was supposed to be a very basic interview to see if I was suitable to do the course at the level I wanted. Our meeting was very informal and she suggested I could do level 4 if I wanted. I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure you will be just fine

I didn't have an initial assessment at all:o or not that I noticed!!

I didn't have an actual assessment but I had to attend a two hour course and do a basic numeracy and literacy test.

I imagine they will want to make sure you have basic skills in Maths and English - so have your certificates ready...
Also that you have the children etc available to use for observations and activities...
Relax and if you don't understand something - ask! That's what they are supposed to be there for! :D

I haven't had an assessment - I had to go to the local college for an interview which was very laid back and she spent alot of the time talking about her cats!!!

thanks for all your replies.........OMG I was getting in a panic over nothing!!
Had my assesment this morning and it was just as you said.....nothing at all to worry about.:)
All is well just got to ring them back regarding the funding now.
