Hi all,

After working in nurseries for 5 years Im fully aware that ofsted inspectors are verrrryyyy different and also change their mind...a lot...so does anyone know what their current guidance is arounf the filing of accident forms. Do they a) want a seperate folder for accidents forms then organised by date or child or b) Accident forms for each child kept in their own file?

I remember ofsted queried this with a nursery i was with once as they asked if a parent made a complaint about how many accidents they had had since they were there, if it was organised in date order with all children together this would be a hard task to work out?

Thanks

I keep all mine in a folder then after a year add them to individual childrens files. Ofsted were happy with that

I use the NCMA forms and then take them out of the file and put them in each child's info file with their child record form and contract so I can find them for each child if needed.

I had inspection in Nov last year and all was ok, Inspector didn't bring up the subject when she looked through everything so guessing it was fine like that.

I use the NCMA accident book and have always kept them in there. Should they be taken out and kept in individual file then? I've never thought about it before and inspectors have not said anything about it so far

I only take them out and put them with the childs folder when the child leaves.

I take them out and put in each childs individual folder so I can see by looking at the childs record what and how many accident they have had. Then I keep a list in the acident book of the acidents giving date, time, name, rough info on accident and accident form number, this shows me then number fo accidents for the whole setting.
