I know you have to be a registered childminder to look after children and get paid if they are under 8. Does this mean that you do not need to be registered if they are over 8 yrs old?

I think it's slightly different in Wales for CSSIW... you don't have the Childcare Register like we do in England for older children.

However if parents want to claim tax credits then they have to use a registered childminder :D
