Hi iam a new childminder in Devon and i have only been minding for 2 weeks just had a call from Mrs O and she is coming on Friday:(

Just a few questions please

I already have in place

Policys and procedures
Risk Assesments ncluding outings
Permisson forms
Fire and emergency plan

I have taken photographes of the children doing various activites and have put them in there files.

With regards to the EYFS I have started there folders but I really havent done that much as i have only been minding a few weeks so far I have a page in their folders under the each area of learning and have written a few observations, but dont know where to go with it next? Just wondered what everyone else does?

How do you keep all of your paperwork? - I have a folder for each child with contract, childs information record, consent and permisson forms, about me, photos and obs.

Can anyone think of anything i have missed?

I suggest you go back through your training folders and make sure you have ticked all the 'to do' boxes.

Then read through the Eyfs and make sure you can say 'yes I do that' to every one of the statutory requirements.

Check the wording on your paperwork is the same as in the Eyfs too.
