Good morning everyone.

I was thinking of doing a parent questionnaire as I have been working 6 months now and it would be nice to get some feedback (positive or otherwise) from parents. However, I have never got round to actually doing it  Ofsted are doing my first inspection next week and it has king of pushed me forward into doing it, so that I csan prove how I am working in partnership with parents. However, I only have one mindee and a child who I look after for an hour 1 once a week, which is arranged through children centre. I was thinking of asking the mum to complete a questionnaire, but also thinking of asking the children centre staff to make comments also. What do you think? Is it going to look all too staged because ofsted have rung?

Any advice please. xx

I do a parent questonnaire , i must admit its usually when i have an inspection due, as i tend to have the same children from babies through school. I had my inspection in July and the inspector was impressed with them ( i also still had previous ones in the folder) she said it shows i work well with parents. If you ask for the Children's Centre to make some comments ... thats good as it shows you are working with outside agencies.

I think working in partnership was my inspectors "thing" as she was very through in that area. Luckily i could show her lots of evidence from school/nursery/parents.

don't worry about it looking staged -it's terribly important to get feedback and it's certainly better than not seeking feedback at all. That would just look as though you're not even bothered. And yes, definitely get feedback from the children's centre too as it's equally important to demonstrate good partnerships with other agencies as parents/carers. You're actually in quite an enviable position as many childminders don't get the opportunity to work in partnership with other agencies at all - you should definitely show that off!
