I work alongside my husband (who is a registered childminder but only helps out as and when)

Ofsted are coming to watch us both.

I have done my SEF but he hasn't (as he doesn't have the time). Will my completed SEF be enough for us both as it covers the whole setting.

What things do ofsted like to see?
What things are likely to be recommended?

I am so nervous (having never done this before). I think I have all of the paperwork in place: onservations, next steps, daily diaries, milestones etc are all up to date. I only have 2 babies (on variation) and one toddler so don't plan as such but just use their next steps to ensure that they are reaching their milestones. We do have activities an the monthly planner, ie music class, toddlers groups, story time etc

what things have ou all been "pulled up on" and asked to change? What did you all do to get a good/outstanding grade?

Sorry for so many questions, I am so nervous!!

CALM DOWN!

They're not ogres and it wont be as bad as you think! Have a nose round the Ofsted and Inspection tips section of the forum for ideas.

Good luck and dont forget to let us know how it goes.

Had mine two days ago and had a bit of a cry afterwards as the level of stress with my three kids acting up was mad!
Got a Good though, phew.
Just so you know, though, i know ALOT of minders and apparently Satisfactory is the new average level. thats not because standards are dropping but satisfactory means meeting all requirements but still a little to do. Good actually means strongly meeting all requirements and nothing need be improved.
Just don't fret if the 's' word appears. Outstanding is a grade given infrequently and irratically, and i'd never had described myself as that.

I got satisfactory for working with other professionals (i don't do it yet tho!?) hygiene, as changed my own son on floor and neglected to wipe my 8mth mindees hands before a rice cake, and working with parents as though they tell me all about home life and achievements i have no record of it.

Also risk ass on all trips out. I had an action too, but thats because my parent hadn't filled in the ncma info form but one i made and therefore missed signing the permission to emergency care! doh, luckily didn't affect my grade.
was that any help?
