Hi, I got registered back in September 2010 being given only 2 children between ages of 3 months to 8 years as my allowance due to the fact my little girl was 1 and half at the time and also that my living room wasn't spacious enuf. This at first annoyed me a little but then got over it ....however someone i know who is a childminder has a smaller play area room etc and is entitled to 4 kids, She has been doing it for 3 and half years and I know i have that against me but my question is if I get an assistant do they automatically extend your numbers? I only want one more full timer?
Also once my daughter is 3, do the numbers automatically go up by one? Its my first time on here and it's taken me 30 mins to work out how to start a thread lol....

any advice would be appreciated.

unfortunatly having anassistant doesnt automatically mean you can have more

onece your daughter becomes 5 or at school full time (rising 5s) thats when you can increase by one..... perhaps contact OFSTED and ask for permission for more...cant hurt to ask

wel done for managing your thread hun xxx

I dont think an assistant would mean you could have more children as space comes into the consideration too I believe.

Like mookins said, perhaps give Ofsted a ring and see if you can be registered for one more child.

Now you have worked out how to post here, there will be no stopping you :)

Also once my daughter is 3, do the numbers automatically go up by one?If you are registered for 2 under 8's then your numbers won't go up untill she is over 8 and not in that age group! Its my first time on here and it's taken me 30 mins to work out how to start a thread lol....

Welcome to the forum & sorry I prob didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. If I was you I would measure the space you have available and calculate it yourself to check they have it right. There is a thread about it somewhere I'll go & have a hunt in a mo!

Like the others say, if the reason your numbers are restricted is due to space then having an assistant won't make any difference.

You could ask Ofsted to reconsider but it may not make any difference.
