I have a possible lady who had 2 school age children! she is wanting me to have them from 3 till 6.30.
I charge £4.50 per hour for part timers and was wondering how I should do the 30 mins.
should I just half the hourly rate or should I put it at £3?????
advice please................

I charge the full hour for all except one. The only reason I let her have a half hour is because she was always late and so I offered her the half hour to cover the fact that I was working 15-20 mins per day for nothing.

I charge per hour or part thereof.
I charge £3.00 per hour up til 6pm then it goes to £4.00 per hour and so on.
so in your case
£4.50 per hour up to 6pm, £2.25 per 30 mins anytime and so therefore from 3 til 6.30 it would cost £15.75 per child, per afternoon. However, this figure would change if you charge a higher rate like i do after 6pm.
hope that helps

I only do full hours because I also do daily and weekly rates which are quite fair and so don't go down the half hour route.
