i have been reg since march and know my first inspection is around the corner, what do they look at around the house, resources, paperwork etc, how does it differ from pre-reg visit, i know i need to start my SEF, but as only had children since May, it is a little thin at the moment, do they take into consideration that i have only just started, especially if i don't remeber all jargon etc.
please help i want to be ready when i get that phone call, thanks guys

It is easy to build your first inspection up! From reading others' experience on here it is rarely as awful as you expect and mine was really not at all painful. The lady was lovely - it was a lot like my pre-reg except of course you have children with you. You will observed with the children and my inspector looked at how well I knew the indidvidual children, their own signs of tiredness, happiness, hunger etc.
Paperwork wise - ensure you have everything you NEED legally, plus if you are feeling ambitious some of the 'extra' bits too, like newsletters for parents, or questionairres for parents. With your policies and proceedures check that they are personal to your setting - that you know what's in them and why.
At the inspection itself - try to have everything available to be viewed easily without you, so the inspector doesn't need to keep interrupting you with the children to find out where bits of paperwork are.
I had only done part of my SEF and had printed it out - it was enough.
Mostly just relax - it's hard I know!
You have time to get everything in order :D

Thanks, i know i am worrying for no reason, i have heard of Mrs O being picky about silly things, which of course you feel under pressure on the day, and not your usual self

I was worried and there is every reason to worry! BUT - because you are preparing now I'm sure you'll be fine!
