well saying 'our' inspecter, my co minders inspecter was very nice today.

I was inspected last Sept by a really horrible women that I'm sure came in with the intention of closing me down, I had to work VERY hard to please her and she bombarded me with questions about legislation and all manner of obscure things, plus she sat in the kitchen and kept calling me away from the children to ask these questions. She didn't observe me working except for half of snack time... I still managed to get a 'good' but she looked like she was sucking a lemon when she told me.

Anyway, today was sooooo different, the first thing was....she smiled :) then she said hello to the mindees :) she had a look around, looked at the displays and the photos etc. then she asked us and the mindees if we would mind if she sat in the playroom with us :)
When we moved outside, she came as well.... most of the inspection was done on observasions while she was checking our paperwork.
She asked my co worker a few questions ... safe guarding, how we keep within ratio with having 16 on the books, how we promote stranger danger/safety on outings to the mindees.

Feedback was for D to update her SEF as its not selling what we do, and maybe to introduce a key worker system.... thats it

D got a 'good' so now we're both 'good'.

Ahh and bless, one of our parents came in tonight with 3 bottles of wine for us (we work with an assistant as well) :jump for joy: :jump for joy: :jump for joy:

Well done D!!! It must have been awful for you to have had such a horrid inspector :( Glad this one was nicer!!! You would think they would realise that most of us are uptight enough about our inspections without giving us a hard time as well

Enjoy your wine all of you

That sounds like a much better experience - and how it should be.

Congratulations to you all - especially D - but any inspection is stressful for everyone - so well done everyone.
