I know someone who travels 22.8 miles a day taking 2 kids to and from their school, should she be charging for this? She would like to but wants a bit of advice about it? Any input is appreciated! :)

Assuming you mean a Childminder is doing a round trip of 22 miles to take two children to and from school. If the childminder charges the parents a fee for transporting the children he/she could find that they may have to register as a taxi. What they should do is charge the parent from the time they set off to collect from school.

If she is going to charge then she needs to incorporate it into her fees

She can charge from the time she sets off/returns, but the amount charged needs to be incorporated into her hourly rate and not charged as a separate mileage charge, otherwise she will be viewed as a taxi.
I would therefore work out what i wanted to charge for the journeys and then divide this by the number of hours and charge more per hour.
