I had my 1st enquiry on Thursday - a little girl who starts school in Aug, so will be looking after her before/after school & school holidays, the mum sounds lovely is already talking like I will be taking her and is in the next street.

She is coming round next Friday for a meeting, so what kind of questions should I be asking and is there a checklist anyway of what I need to go over. I have a brochure and business card I can give her to take away with her and can also show her the welcome pack with all my policies and procedures in.

i know I'll be nervous cos i've never had to do this before.

I am sure you will be fine

I usually offer them a drink then show them my paper work My folder about myself / certificates etc while I play with the child / children .
I tell them to ask me questions along the way if they see anything that is not mentioned and I also point out things myself

Ask general questions about child - sleep / eating / toilet etc etc

I show them around so they know where their child wil be sleeping etc

We speak about what they are looking for - hours etc - my fees etc etc

I then ask a little about them then leave it open for them to call me back if they require a place ( hinting dont leave it to long haha )

Just be yourself you will be ok and the questions / answers will flow once you start

Remember they are prob nervous too

Good luck let us know how it goes
