Hi All
I have been registered since January and look after my grandson 7 months for 4 days. I had a parent visit who had a 9 month old lo and would like to start in May 3 days till they are 1 then full time and her 5 year old school pick up, so the lo would be 10 months what do you think the chances are for ofsted to allow a variation for 2 months. I can't believe I have waited so long for a mindee to start and typical it's not staight forward I have the forms to fill out any extra wording you think might help would be gratefully recieved aswell .

Thanks for your time!

Ofsted only usually allow variations for continuity of care.

Also they can take a while to come through...

However nothing ventured nothing gained as they say! Good luck! :D

Ok I'll try again!!
OFSTED view a variation for 2 under 1's differently to a variation for something like 4 under 5's. It's seen as a minor variation and is almost always granted even for new business. Write on the form that you have 2 highchairs, car seats ec. and a resume of your day; roughly what time you'll eat, nap, playgroups etc.
as long a syou stay within your orignal under 5 numbers it should be given

I have recently been granted a variation for 2 under 1 - one sibling of current mindee, but other a new one (friend of original family). Filled form in on line and emailed back to them with info on all the children in my care, days, times etc. and basically how I would look after 2 under 1 - equipment etc.

Had a call after about 3 weeks to say a permanent variation had been granted to allow me to have 2 under 1 at any time!

Always worth asking - you don't know till you do! Good luck

My very first mindee was on a variation for two under 1s (DD was also under 1 at the time), but they had to do a visit rather than base it on the forms as I'd not had a graded inspection.
