Mine sent 3.5 hours of my 3.5 hour inspection looking at my policies & sef, with us playing in the background. Wondering if it'll different next time

Mine looked in depth at all my policies and the LJ's She did interact a bit with the children and me, but it all seemed to be based on paperwork>
Lets hope things are changing. Funny that was written yesterday

This is because childminders are not expected to have policies and procedures in writing, and only need limited written information on observation, assessment and planning. Our inspection guidance makes it clear that the majority of time on inspection is spent in direct observation of activities and routines.
What?! I don't think so!!! My inspector barely moved her backside from her seat, tapping away on her laptop.
Limited written info? Hmmm all they go on about is proof and evidence and this needs to be in writing!

What I thought was interesting is that OFSTED will be reviewing their inspection procedure & the tenders ie TRIBAL / PROSPECT will be up around September 2012...just in time for EYFS review changes!

I wish this guidance had come out before my inspection! :(
I have 2 long rambled "actions" on my report, one regarding not having RAs for every trip and outing (which I do even though it is not necessary to have these in writing just good practice) and another that should just say didn't have her name on the RAs but is instead a whole legal section on RAs as a whole. :(

Doesn't it make you feel that all the hours that we have spent writing have been a total waste of time!! After reading A7 it certainly made me feel that way. GRRRRRRRRRRR

My inspector never moved away from the table and her laptop the whole time she was here!!! She had all my files in front of her and never really took any notice of what I and the lo were up to! Certainly never looked in the garden, round the house etc.
