I've had my inspection today. I've been a little apprehensive, mainly because I am going through a messy break-up with a parent and I was so worried about that and whether I tell Ofsted or not.

The inspection was AWFUL, it was so lucky that the inspector was LOVELY. She was so understanding, I didnt have to explain re the behaviour issues, they were as obvious as the nose on your face.

She actually said she couldnt believe how patient I was and how controlled I was with him. He created from the minute she walked in til she actually left I think she was sick to death of it probably rushed back to her hotel for paracetamol!!!

The first thing he did was threw himself on the floor when she spoke to him, then went straight into the playroom and threw some dolls up in the air while I had 2 babies there. Continued to throw toys, take the toys off the babies, take their dummies, pull off the babies socks even though he was getting upset, block the little one into a corner, drive cars and trucks into both babies, pull the chair out from under one sitting down, scream into the fact of the elder baby, and just generally scream from start to finish. The inspector was

She said she wished that she could give me an outstanding for behaviour management because she said I was amazing at how controlled I was. I got good in all areas but I am really sure she said I got an outstanding in 1 area though tbh by that point he was literally just standing there screaming and hitting the baby with a bus so I couldnt hear her and just really wanted her to go.

I felt so emotional when she said re me managing his behaviour and how much she praised me, because I really have struggled and hit rock bottom, so for someone like that to recognise how hard it must have been meant alot.

I am so glad its over and I am so glad he is leaving 2moro, cos if he wasnt I think I'd ave been on a real downer.

Wow, sounds like an ordeal, but how AWESOME you got all the way through it and impressed the inspector.

Good is a fantastic grade: be proud of yourself. If you want an outstanding there's always next time

Well done you :clapping:

Make sure you give yourself a treat, you definitely deserve it :)

best wishes,
Wendy

Thankyou Wendy,
To be honest I am more than happy with good. I've been good since I started and I am happy with that, last time I got a satisfactory because of my paperwork and I was FUMING  because my paperwork is the one thing I pride myself on (think that comes from my previous job in an office), but the inspector picked on something. I dont think she liked the idea that on the old SEF I graded myself GOOD and she looked at it rather bemused and said "so you think you are good? mmmm well I NEVER expect a childminder to be anything other than SATISFACTORY"

This inspector was so amazing, really put me at ease, really discussed things with me, very understanding.

And when she acknowledged the behaviour issues and actually commented she thinks there may be more to it but that I have clearly gone above and beyond but am flogging a dead horse when mums attitude is "his way or NO WAY", that meant alot to me, we all need a little praise

In all honesty I just want a shower, get my pj's on and watch telly in bed. I've not slept for a few nights  and I just feel like relaxing, but I am going to zumba and burn off my stresses.

Might have a glass or 2 2moro though.

thankyou all so much x

Well done!!

What a shame that he behaved so badly - but good that she got to see how good you are at managing it.

Dont blame you for having a drink ready for when he goes home tomorrow.

Congratulations, be very proud of yourself!

Well done!

You've shown Ofsted how utterly fantastic you are! :)

I'm so glad everything worked out ok, it brought tears to my eyes to read what a terrible day you have had today. (I'm going through a weepy phase so everything sad and good is setting me off, you had a double dose, lol!!). Now you can chill and have a nice lazy night xx

Oh bless. I know the feeling. Have had ALOT going on lately and a few weeks back I was like that, it was sort of everything piling on and on and on and the behaviour and other stuff just got to me, and just one small "dispute" and I cracked and gave notice. To be honest it seems ridiculous now to give notice over it, but it was really a case of the straw that broke the camels back and I think had it not come then I'd have carried on minding him until he left for nursery and I know for a fact that after yesterday I would be on a real downer because of how he made me feel and how it could TOTALLY have gone in the opposite direction.

Hope you are feeling a little better its horrible isnt it, I was like that the slightest thing and I was blubbing and I dont DO tears, I've cried more in the last 3 months than I have in my whole life
