I've got my ofsted inspection next week and just wondered if you offer the inspector any snacks or lunch?
My last one a few weeks ago was here 10.30 - 3pm and when she'd gone I realsied that I hadn't had any lunch or offered her anything to eat, she must've been starving :panic:

I didnt when she last came here. She arrived at 9.04 and left at 3.15 . The children had their snacks and lunches and we didnt have a thing. I was far too busy with her and the kids to notice till shed gonexx
I think they are old enough to look after themselves...even they should know how long they gonna be and take a packed lunch or something

mine have always come about 9.30 and gone by 1. The children have their lunch, but then I have mine when they are gone. One of my Mrs O's was heavily pregnant and I did offer her a snack, but she only wanted water :D

I did offer Mrs O a snack, hot drink and lunch but she said that they are not allowed to have anything other than water when doing an inspection. Apparantly if they do have anything, there is so much paperwork to complete it isn't worth it.
Mind you that could vary with inspectors, too, you all know how consistent they are!

Mine turned up at 10.30 and left about 2.30ish all I offered her was one drink  The children had their snacks and lunch but as I had to do a lunchtime school drop off and pick up I didn't get time for dinner. She went and sat in the car to read my paperwork, I presumed she had a sandwich at the same time.

Thankfully mine have never been here over lunch time but I wouldn't offer them any lunch.
I didn't even offer them a drink - never have one myself in case I need the loo!

No harm in offering is there? She will either accept or decline...WHY do they always decline? is it really incase they are drugged or poisoned?
I would tell her that she is welcome to bring her packed lunch in to eat with us...unless she is an ogre and then id be glad of the relief haha

My inspector came mid-morning but was only here just over an hour - she happily accepted the offer of a coffee though - tut tut her then!!!!

I offer mine a coffee when I have one, but nothing apart from that. If they were here over lunchtime & I was eating I might offer them something, but I would only be being polite & I'd expect them to say no!
I wonder if they'd wash their hands before eating

I didn't offer mine a drink. I don't drink tea or coffee so I'm afraid I forget to offer to others:blush: She was just about to go when I remembered and apoligised for not offering

N.B. Always give Mrs/Mr O all drinks in a lidded cup with a straw or an insulated lidded cup if hot.
A friend had her inspection last week, offered a drink the inspector asked for a glass of water and then preceeded to knock it over cms paperwork

I made mine a coffee (in an insulated lidded cup, lol!) but no food.
I would love for them to get their packed lunch out and me have to say 'Oh I'm sorry but you can't eat that huge slab of chocolate cake here we have a healthy eating policy'
