Do we HAVE to do risk assesments under EYFS ? or is it just good practice .

It is good practice, but i think we do need to be doing it when working with eyfs but im not sure

Legal requirement... p 33 for premises and equipment and p24 for outings :D

so i have to do a risk assement for the school run ? How on earth have my children managed to get to school safely all this time !!!! How have we survived in a house thats not been risk assed !! OMG :angry:

I've done a one-off risk assessment for the school run. Same for trips to beach, park and shops, anything we do on a regular basis.
They're to protect you, at the end of the day. If an accident occurs with a mindee, you want to be able to prove you have done everything you can to provide a safe environment or outings.
