Just had my first graded inspection and I was so nervous - think I may have been a wreck if she hadn't come on the first of the possible days she gave me!! Anyway I got a GOOD :) I am so relieved and she was only here about 2.5 hours.
Things she really foccussed on were:-
safeguarding - asked me if I was confident to so something if I thought there was an issue and also what I would do etc
Planning - she loved that I did monthly topic that was loosly followed (mindee and DS both still under 2) but also liked the individual planning I put in learning journey each month. She said I was doing more than enough at that age so glad I hadn't done weekly plans which was what my original plan was!!
Getting out and about - she wanted to know about the variety of things we did outside the house, particularly outdoor play etc and also how I transported the children.
Toy Rotation - she wanted to know if we were members of places to hire in toys (luckily we joined one last week!) and also the library as she thought that children got a lot more variety than if you just have same resources.
Communication - went through in a very detailed manner all methods of communication with the parents and also the nursery that mindee attends once a week.
Her only reccommendation was that I develop more resources within the garden - particularly natural ones for mark making and also playing with bits of drain pipes etc
I hope that helps for people who are due inspections soon! I just wanted to say a big thankyou for everyone's advice - it has really helped and you are all right - she really was not that bad!! Off for a cuppa to celebrate while everyone asleep now!!
