Morning All,

Im having a massive panic as Ive had the call from OFSTED to say they are coming for my pre-inspection. I'm currently work full time and am not looking at starting my childminding until September at the earliest... Does anyone know if I still have to have everything in place? I have all my kitchen door catches but they are not fitted yet, I have my plug socket covers, again not in yet. My children are older so I dont need them from day to day until Im childminding, but do they need to be fitted for my visit? Do i need to have my house set out as if the children are already with me?

Im also waiting for a new tv unit to come as Ive not long moved and have a few wires out, will that be a problem as i dont want to be nailing cables to my newly decorated room when i dont know where my unit will go. I also have a high shelving unit thats not secured to the wall for the same reason. I have done a risk assesment form to show I know it needs to be done and what action needs to be taken, but am worried I will be marked down if i dont do it.

I have so many questions... Thank you in advance to anyone who responds.... I dont know what id do without this website... Its BRILLIANT!!!:clapping:

Hi Joe,

Dont worry this is just a pre-reg visit so you wont be graded. My visit was really relaxed she asked me a few questions about safeguarding children etc. It was very informal we just chatted. This visit is so Ofsted can get to know and see if you and your home are suitable for childminding.

I also was told how many children I would be able to take care of as she measured the rooms I would be using.
