Blimey think ofsted are doing a postcode lottery at the moment in our area, because i am on to my third hand counting the childminders that have had the call for an inspection next week.

I am getting mine done next week, probably tuesday, and everyone else they rang bar one is being done at some point during the week. One i know said she was on holiday.

This is the hemel area, but it makes no odds to me, cos I am ready as i will ever be whenever and the few spare minutes i have free this weekend I am spending on here and with the dogs, which is where i am going now!

I am a little worried as first inspection with dogs (both pups one 8months and one 11months), but i manage every other day without a catastrophe, unhappy kids or parents, so should be fine!!!!:panic:

And I know of another 2 cm's who have both had the call - one had her inspection last week and the other is waiting for the inspector to call - both were told that inspectors would be in the area last week.

Maybe they've moved elsewhere now!

They're obvioulsy having a massive purge to get caught up before the end of the 3yr cycle as it seems as if all areas area having a mass invasion of inspectors!
All our mindees who haven't yet been inspected under EYFS were contacted the week before last, with inspections happening the week after next. For some of them it's been almost 4yrs since their last inspection :panic:

I was July 2007, so it is due, the only thing I wished was that they had done it last July before I had the dogs, just one extra pressure with two puppies, we have had one 6 months and one 2 months and our daily lives work well for us and the minded children, but just not sure about the inspector and two puppy springers!

I will have an 18month and two 3 1/2 year old, and hubby is going to take the dogs for their morning walk, which i would normally do with him and the kids, but as i said to him he will have to come back with the dogs whilst she is there otherwise they will think that we are trying to hide them, which is not the case but two springers with no walk will be a recipe for disaster!

Lucky the kids numbers are small enough for me to have on my own!

v1461, hope all goes well, if you have the same lady as me, she was lovely!

I got better than expected and to be honest better than i really wanted, as i kind of find it a bit awkward now, cos i am not one for blowing my own trumpet.

She was so relaxed and really let me get on with it, previously every inspector i have had hasnt shut up with questions whereas this lady had read my sef, looked through my stuff (bizarrely my portfolio with policies etc nearly last) and watched and watched and a few questions here or there and followed me a small bit and spoke with the children, who i have to say were exceptionallly vibrant today and real stars.

The whole dog thing which was my only worry was good and they too were real stars (they always are but you just cant be sure can you!)

So this was a really positive inspection, which i quite enjoyed, regardless of the outcome and i have learnt that if this is what an ofsted inspector from the west country is like, then i am definitely right to want to move there, cos they are just a lot more human!!!

when i had my rpe reg Mrs O read all about my dog and cat and neither was here for the 3 hours she was here but my hubby takes dog to work so she is rarely here during the day but i did think the same; does she think i'm hiding her because she's bad with the kids or something...

I didnt want her to avoid my dogs, because she actually rang me when i was out walking with the dogs and kids (and hubby), so she knew we let the dogs around the children, there are also pictures in their lj's of the dogs in the background or being stroked etc to record events etc, I have nothing to hide and figured that it was best to just get on with it, but did say they would need to be walked as not fair on them!
