Just had my first ever inspection. I was really scared. But I got an over all good which i'am really happy about.

Just wanted to tell everyone that its not as scary as you think and as long as you do risk assesments, contracts, observations and most important the children in your care are happy and having fun, then OFSTED are happy.

My inspecter was really nice and the children were all really well behaved. Untill 15 mins after she left and then one decided it was tantrum time which was kind of funny.

Good luck to anyone having there inspection

Well done you!

Can I be nosey and ask what activities you gave the children to do while you were having your inspection? I am due my first one soon and I think have all the paperwork in place but am dreading the children (most of all my DS!!) playing up! Also how much warning did you get before hand?!

I had about 4days notice two of those were the weekend so I was able to give the house a real good blits.

We played with jigsaws and then as we were getting restless I took they out to feed the chickens and looked at the pigs (sorry I realise that won't help most people).

I also had on hand easy access to messy play items but the inspector was only there for two hours and the minded children were only there for an hour and a half.

One the the inspector did say is if you have young children you should take a pick of them playing with cold pasta or othe mark making activity as it can be hard to prove that sort of thing on the day.

Well done! That's fantastic! I'm really worried about mine, they could call at anytime and I don't feel ready. Hx

I had my inspection today, you are right it is not as bad as people make out.I was graded a good. But she did say if she was choosing a childminder she would use me! Which was much much better than getting an Outstanding.
