Hi All,

Just been told the ICP course I was booked to start on in March is now fully booked and I didnt get a place, I have been put on the waiting list but there are 6 people in front of me, which is really disappointing!

The next course doesnt start until sometime in May, so its going to be getting on for 2012 by the time im up and running with mindees etc :-(

I have had a visit from a childminding support worker, gone through everything with her, I have a list of stuff to do, write policies, safe proof house etc etc.

I have worked with 3 and 4 year olds in nursery school setting so have knowledge of the EYFS and putting it into practice.

Do you think I would be asking for trouble if I attmpted to register with OFSTED before I started the course?

I realise I need to have re-newed my paediatric first aid before I can register anyway.

Thanks in advance x

As far as I know, you have to have done the course within 6 months of registration. I have registered and my course doesn't start until the end of March. So I would say go for it, as my registration has taken 4 months.

Thanks JO, so you can childmind after you have had your pre-reg visit and they have officialy registered, then do the course, then have a graded inspection after 6months or so?

How did you go about getting all the forms etc? As these are handed out at the course, and now i dont no how to go about getting them!

Yes that's right. Contact your local early years team for forms you need, you should be able to find out their contact details through local council
