My first graded inspection was 1st Oct 2008 so my three years since last inspection will be later this year. I only mind a 7 year old for 5-6 hours a week at the moment so have no EYFS children on my books.
I got a "Satisfactory" back then but in an area with a glut of Childminders I really feel I need to be at least "Good" if I'm going to get more business. However given the child I have on my books if they come now I'm going to get "Satisfactory" again.
So does anybody know how soon they might come as I hopefully I can get at least 1 EYFS child on my books before they do.

Mine was 6 months early (it was last week) and a friends was a year late. Both of use had got good previously and neither of us had been triggered by any complaints.
I would say that from 2 yrs on it could be anytime.

My last inspection was 2 months early. She told me that our names come up on a computer list showing all inspections due in the next 3 months and they just take the first group of a certain number in their area. That was in 2009 so it may have changed by now

Thanks for your responses. It is so obviously a lottery which I thought it was. I am ready, just hope they come when I have EYFS age children so I can be graded properly!!!
