Does anyone have a basic recipe for a tasty tomato soup please?

yes i certianly do. my children love it.
1 large onion
2-3 stalks of celery
2-3 carrots
chop up pop on pan medium heat with a dash of oil - for about 5-8 mins
add 2 pints of stock ( i find chicken the best)
along with 1 tin of tomatoes and 4 whole tomoaotes.
bring to boil, and simmer for 20- 30 minutes (till all veg is soft)
wizz up and yum yum.

Sounds yummy but why do you need a tin of tomatoes AND 4 whole ones?
Might give it a try, mindees are into soup and sandwiches atm

I got this recipe from another forum, it is gorgeous. I use passata rather than tinned tomatoes.
