i know Ofsted are very keen on handwashing so just want to check I am doing it right!

I wash my hands:
After nappy changes
Before making food
After making food
Before eating
When been outside

Mindees wash hands:
When been outside
Before eating
After eating
When mucky from craft etc

They are not old enough to be using toilet yet. Did I read somewhere that you need to wash mindees hands after nappy changing? Seems a bit mad but....

yes this is right my inspector mentioned this when i was inspected she just said it was good to wipe hands afterwards as they sometime grab bums when changing which is true lo today grabbed nappy    and it gets them in a routine of washing hands ready for when they start using potty/ toilet

Yes my bathroom is upstairs so I was told it is safer for me to use the gel or baby wipes than taking all lo's upstairs.

I was told not to use the gel on mindees all of the time as it dries their skin to much but to use baby wipes.

It's ok in an emergency but the advice is to get to soap and water as soon as possible.

For walkers I have a bowl of warm water in the kitchen on a low table - give them hand wash and they wash then rinse then use kitchen towel to dry.

I replenish the water for each child. My do said it was a really good way of doing it and the children were clearly confident with their routine.

For babies I use a wipe and if they are frightened of water I use wipes but only very gentle hypo-allergenic ones or they can cause dry skin too.

Hth :D
