Had my first inspection last week and just received my report, got overall "Good" with "Outstandings" in 2 areas :clapping: Am so happy and now feel like all the hard work has been worthwhile. The inspector said there is no reason why I shouldnt get an overall outstanding in my next inspection as by then I should have built up enough evidence that my children are reaching their EYFS learning goals. I just wanted to say that over the 5 months since I started childminding I have at times felt like I wanted to give it up as the paperwork seemed overwhelming and I didnt know where to start. I think though that everybody feels like that and knowing that there are other people that do feel like that makes you feel you are not alone. It has been really helpful reading what others are up to and what they do. Also I have used some of Sarah's e-books which have been very helpful:) Thanks

Well done on getting through your 1st inspection! Totally agree re the paperwork, it is all too much at times, but yes, we are all in the same boat. I have just had my inpection & the inpspector thought that I was recording a bit too much in their LJ's. I will have to have a rethink!
