Hey people,
Just thought to let you all know how it went. I did get a GOOD with 7 Outstanding Qualities. My First graded inspection!

He did also tell me that he has never seen so good Observations and Journal in his whole working life (retiring in 2 yrs )

I would be really happy with the result, but I feel that there were so many things Mr. O did not actually look at. I.e. he never asked me for ID, which I believe is really important. He didn't ask any Q's about the EYFS. He's given me a good on feeling SAFE...which I totally disagree with as we do really loads on Safety...Got picture i'd cards (never asked for this or looked at my first aid kits), high vis vests, Safer Stranger Safer Building, Hoof Safety and loads more....... sorry I wobbling on....

Furthermore I raised the Question:" So were can I find out what I need to do, to make the GOOD marks OUTSTANDING?" He told me how amazing I was and that everything I do is brilliant! Especially the paperwork and my journal.

He said that the outstanding would come with me having a full-timer. At the moment I have an EYFS child before and after school. Approx 3 hours. Sooooooo dissapointed :crying: :crying: :crying:

I would've been happy with a good if it wouldn't be for that specific reason of not having a full timer and now it makes me feel not good enough.

Ooooh Mr O.

And now...just now ... bless my husband darling dear... he's just walked in with the biggest bunch of flowers :clapping:

Thank you everyone for listening (reading)...just letting of steam i guess

It's frustrating isn't it? I only have 1 eyfs for an hour in a morning and so I couldn't show very much to mrs o. But I was happy that she recognised how hard I was trying.

However . . . fantastic result for you there. I have no doubts that next time they will grade you as outstanding. How could they not?

Well done

That's absolutely fantastic Leapsters, well done :clapping: :clapping:

I know how disappointed you feel as you got such great comments and he didn't even look at some of your work but just feel proud of what you've achieved and relax now....it's over for another 3 years.... and have a drink or some choccies!

p.s could you please let me have a look at your observations and journal seeing as yours are so good - this is where i don't do very well! lol

But is it really fair to be penalised for not being a primary carer. :censored:
I am considering challenging Ofsted. :panic:
Not sure if that's a wise move tho as the report has not even gone through yet???

Thank you for you input:clapping:

:) I will delete all personal details out of this journal and share it with you.

Also to add to that, I am using a system but don't think I'm allowed to mention it publicly on her. (Forum rules) If you email at: xx I can let you know. It's amazing and makes the EYFS a walk in the park.

Well done to you :clapping: :clapping:

I got down graded on my last inspection before EYFS came in due to not having enough children on my books, not sure what she expected me to do about that, drag them in off the streets perhaps

I'm sure you'll be getting outstanding at your next inspection

You know how hard you work and I'm sure you are OUTSTANDING to your parents :clapping:

Congrats :clapping: I read your first post and straight away thought challange it. It is not fair to say you can only be good because you don't have a full timer.

Let us know what happens

I've just spoken to tribal to see what i can do and posed exactly the same Q with them. "We are not an advisory service!" I got told.

Whaaaat? I am a strong believer that we should be working together with these people, which means advise is needed!!!!!!!!!
How is a partnership going to work it is only one sided???

lol, I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove being a childminder :clapping: :littleangel:

In the end the only thing that really matters is that my mindees are happy and well looked after!!! Their little smiles are more rewarding than any grade will ever be :D

Well done you!

I have to say though, I really don't think people should be downgraded for not having an EYFS child full time. If there is nobody in the area looking for full time childcare, what on earth are you meant to do about it!?

Exactly my point, victimising me for that is surley unfair.

I do have a 5 yr old that still comes under the EYFS and I do a lot with her and follow ALL the guidelines...e.g. observation, planning, assessment ECM

It's as if they are saying i would not be able to do this with a baby or toddler unless proven otherwise.
