Morning all,
Well, I have my first graded inspection on Thursday, as well as that I have three new children starting this week! One of which is a 9 month baby who does not like being left. I am feeling quite stressful at the moment as I don't feel ready or comfortable with my inspection, still trying to get my head round all the paper work and planning!! At the moment I have only had one afterschoolie who didnt really want to do much
I have just submitted my SEF which took me ages to doand I do feel I might have rambled quite alot....... OK, which I think I am doing now!!!
Really scared about next week what a way to start the new year!!!!

Did whoever is doing your inspection give you a phone number to contact them?
I would be very tempted to phone them and explain about 3 new mindees and how don't think will be in mindees best interests to have a visitor when they are not yet settled into routines or secure in their relationship with you or each other.
Also have had any other mindees? as if not you will not have any development records to show (learning journals) or much evidence of working in partnership with parents.
Even if they decide to go ahead with inspection - at least they will be aware of the situation re new mindees.
Good Luck with the inspection and if this week - just be yourself, concentrate on the children, have your paperwork to hand and leave inspector to look at it / follow you around / ask questions. If you are able to give 'running commentary' about what doing and why (for example 'I am carrying X around as he finds it distressing to be on his own and it is only his ? day with me'')

I think I would do what Penny1959 advised " I would be very tempted to phone them and explain about 3 new mindees and how don't think will be in mindees best interests to have a visitor when they are not yet settled into routines or secure in their relationship with you or each other"
good luck with what ever you decide :D
Good luck  I hope your mindees settle quickly for you (wow 3 new well done :clapping: ) and your inspection will go really well I'm sure:thumbsup:

:) Just wanted to wish you well with your inspection. Mine was on the day I broke up for the Christmas hols, so only about 2 weeks ago.
I had all my paperwork on the table ready for the inspector, she came in and sat down and started working her way through it. I asked if she'd seen my SEF which she hadn't, but this prompted her to look for it online. I really think it helped that she could see it, so it may be useful to have a printed copy just incase your inspector hasn't seen yours.
I just got on with activities with my mindee. we were actually in the middle of lunch to start off with, and then we got on with some crafts so we were at the table with Mrs O most of the time.
I found it best to just ignore Mrs O (unless of course she asked a question  ), and just to concentrate on what I would normally be doing with mindee. Mrs O was here about 2.5 hours, but it flew.
Good luck, stay calm, and don't forget to post to let us know how you got on. :)

Hi Penny, no I havn't got a phone number for my inspector, completley forgot to take one. She does know though that I have new children starting, fortuantly she will only be here when the baby is as she couldnt fit the inspections around my different school runs. Thank you for the advice, I really need all I can get at the moment lol!
