I had a call from Prospect people around 4 weeks ago asking if I had any children on roll. I told them that I have had mindees since first registering in Sept 2009 and they were surprised as they said Ofsted had me down as not currently minding!

I have never told them this and was in fact due to be inspected back in February but my father passed away and I rang to delay the inspection. I've heard nothing until last month when they said they'd get an inspector to ring me within 2 weeks to arrange my first inspection.

I've again heard nothing but am today finishing with my only full time mindee.
Should I ring them to chase it up or wait until they contact me?
Sorry this is a long post!! :(

Hi :),
I'd leave it: there's no point having an inspection without children. I think you can only be graded up to satisfactory in these circumstances. Just call them when you have more mindees on roll :) Or explain when they finally get round to ringing you... That's what I'd do anyway

Thanks Becca, and Florabird, I have another little one 1 day a week and a baby starting the 4th January.

I would ring Ofsted just to check what their records say - as there have been a few communication problems between Ofsted and Prospects - but maybe wait until settled new baby in

I wouldn't contact Ofsted until the new baby has settled in.

But get everything ready just in case!
