Ok well I was talking to a childminder 'friend' of mine ans she said that she had got a good in her last inspection which did surprise me a little as I have seen all her paperwork and was less than impressed as most of her policies are just printed off of Bromley and not even read/ signed etc. She also said that her parents didnt get copies of the report which I thought was odd because when you have good a good you tend to want to share your achievement. Anyway, i decided to look at the report myself online and am shocked!
The report said how she kept daily contact books, liases with the nurseries, works with parents and follows all h/s procedures. She has a contact book for the nursery and had done all sorts of training. I know that she has none of this. She does no diaries atall, no contact book for the nursery, no certificates for training, (inc EYFS training) and her husband actually gave her the first aid certificate (he is a first aider for his work and just printed the certificate). I find it so annoying that she lied her way through the inspection, all evidence she said was with parents or nursery hence why she hasnt given a copy to parents as they will no most of the inspection is rubbish!

Hmmm I know of something similar and its sooo annoying  but what can we do?? I wouldn't be able to lie my way through an inspectionn as I'd tie myself in knots but some people are good at it I suppose !!

Maybe she is in fact pulling the wool over your eyes as to her setting.
I find it very hard to believe knowing Ofsted that they took only her word on all of this and did not want to see proof.
Something does not ring true here
I see her all the time and I know her inspector was one of the softest ones around! She absolutely has none of this stuff as we are a group of friends and I know her 'parents' and children very well as they are my friends. I also go in her house a few times a week to babysit and we do joint activity sessions a few times a week etc so that is why when it came up I was surprised she got a good. She just filled in the sheets for the day, and said parents had contact books with them and the nursery had theirs. Also, I know my first aid has never been checked in terms of the trainer etc My inspector asked me loads of questions and didnt check either so it is possible. Just upsetting when I worked very hard and some people do not!

Agree something not right here
Maybe she did not want share her paperwork - so showed the Bromley stuff so you would think her helpful.
I also would be surprised if Ofsted did not check at least some of the things you mentioned.
When was her last inspection? - as one thing Ofsted def check is the learning Journeys of children present on the day - and lack of knowledge of EYFS would show in the LJ's
Maybe she is hoping that if she does not share info with you - you will not get established and therefore competition to her? (does she know you use the forum for support and ideas?)
On the other hand if you are right and she has pulled the wool over Ofsted's eyes - then it neds reporting - by a parent using the service if possible. Do you know any of the parents to be able to pas a comment such as 'I have just read ... Ofsted report - the ... she does, sound fantastic and I am thinking of copying the idea of .... to use in my setting' Parent may say - oh didn't know you could see the report or she has never done that on the days my child attends - This would give you the opportunity to tell parent how to find report on Ofsteds website.
Mine you some parents just can't be bothered - so not sure what else you could do - at back of my head is a 'Whistle Blowing policy - so will look in to that.

Sorry just read you last post - sorry overlapped with it - seems she has managed to pull wool over Ofsteds eyes
Penny :)
Thanks Penny ! She definately does the learning journals and obs..but funnily enough the majority is at my house when I put on the messy play activities and crafts  Will have to knock this relationship on the head soon I think! I just wanted to vent at the grading but she does care for the children and keep them safe so I would hate to call ofsted. I think she is just very good at bending the truth to the right people. Her last inspection was a few months ago. Just feeling a bit bitter which isn't very friendly so I am going to put a sock in it now! Humph !

The most concerning thing about this is the fact she allegedly has a first aid certificate printed for her by her husband. So she's never actually attended the course?! That alone would make me report her.
