Hope my inspection is today - want it out of the way :o

I was satisfactory last time which was a kick in the teeth - inspector wanted written evidence for everything even though it was before EYFS and marked me down, for example, not showing I would provide healthy meals (they all bought packed lunches anyway  ) as I had no menu.

I joined the forum after that and now feel ready to do it all again - I may have too many written policies but they can't say I am unable to evidence things! Feel much more relaxed.

This inspector is one I had 6 years ago  and she is much more human than the last one - no one locally got on with her :(

I have not done SEF so not expecting to be outstanding but Good would be nice.

Wish me luck, and I hope it doesn't drag on all week

WELL IT WASN'T TODAY - STILL WAITING

This means I will miss toddlers tomorrow and if she doesn't come tomorrow, CM group on Wednesday :(

Hi, Spot the newbie on the forum...
What is SEF... I'm sure its somewhere on here, but as I'm not used to forums and all this stuff hoping someone wouldn't mind helping out a newbie!
Also... what's all the gradings... I've seen Satisfactory, Good, Outstanding... any others?

Best of luck with your inspection!

Welcome to the forum!

The SEF is a self evaluation form which you might complete to show Ofsted how good you are!

Yes those are the main grades - there is unsatisfactory as well if you fail to meet the statutory requirements.

Sorry If this is a question that has been asked many times but do the inspectors not tell you when they are coming?

Do they give you any kind of notice?

You would normally expect to get a few days' notice but they won't tell you exactly when they are coming!

They might say 'before 930 or you can go out' or something like that, but generally you won't know more.

Hth :D
