I have had the call from ofsted! The lady told me she would be coming on the 22nd nov as she has someone else that day too (shes coming at 10am though so they must have booked an afternoon slot...??)
I am very worried as i have read in my 'are you ready for your inspection' booklet that inspectors will never tell you the definite date.
Im not sure if this is a good or bad sign??? Is she just checking when i am available and going to spring on me????
Plus, I am on holiday the whole week before my inspection, get back on sunday, and get inspected monday morning. Great, a nice holiday full of worry and panic and mental planning for when i get back!!!
Am really freaking out about it, do not think its a good thing at all that I am not going to be able to talk to kids and train them well (!!!lol) the week beforehand. Anything i tell them this week they will have forgotten!! Not to mention the last two weeks the two little boys i look after have both been absolute nightmares!! Lets hope it doesnt carry over to ofsted week!!

I think it's great you know exactly when AND you've got time to make sure you've got everything in order!

It will be fine: the thing to have sorted is all the paperwork, so the inspector can see what you have in place, then you just go about your day as usual and what you forget to say when she asks will hopefully be answered in your paperwork anyway.
The children's behaviour shouldn't impact too much: just the way you deal with it. Also its better not to 'train' them anyway, as they're likely to give the game away I would think?!

If you get paperwork organised ready to present to her before hols and have an activity planned which will keep children occupied and calm before your hol, hopefully knowing the actual date has been a blessing. Ihated not knowing which day... and I couldn't go out, which was a real pain when she didn't turn up the first few possible days!!

I know its easy for me to say, but try not to think about it too much: prepare now and enjoy your time away :thumbsup:

Can i just ask do they not give def days and times now? It's a bit unreasonable to expect us to wait in......:(
