Health visitor and doctor?

Have a word with Early Years beside having a quite word with the parents to speak to their social worker, health visitor, doctor there are many avenues to go down to get advice.:)

i think it depends whether it was a medical or educational issue. I'd probably contact the CAF co-ordinator at the LA too and look to complete a CAF unless it was something straightforward such as maybe a referral for a hearing test?

You need to see a GP for a referral to the community learning disability team. A learning disability is a medical diagnosis and needs to be given over time by specialists. Social services and SENCO will not have anything to do with a child until they have been formally diagnosed.

And GPs are hard to persuade so you'll need every single shred of evidence you can get hold of! I used to work for cldt and it was part of my job to help with new referrals.
