As you probably know I received my CRB yesturday and was waiting for Darren's, well this morning I checked his crb online to find it has been dispatched! Yippee!

So I phoned Ofsted and asked how long I have to wait to receive my certificate.

I expected to be told that it would come through within the next week, maybe that was being naive, because I was told that they are still waiting for my social services check to come back!

They have been waiting for this for goodness knows how long, even in January they had recieved Darren's social services report back (he was under social services when he was little), but I have never had anything to do with social services so I was a bit annoyed to find that they are still waiting for my report! Social services have had it since January:( (so approx 3 months!!!)

I asked ofsted why it is taking so long and have they chased it up, she said that they did chase it in March. (So they chased it once, thanks!:mad: )

So they are going to chase it again today.:rolleyes:

She said once it is back, my whole application and all the details get put to the team manager and they check to see if i am suitable, then I will get my certificate.

To me that still sounds like another long wait.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to make a decision and to send the certificate out?

I would ring tomorrow and ask if it's been chased and what has happened :D

Keep pestering them and they will get fed up with you and hopefully get everything really quickly.

my friend had same problem was waiting on social service report which held it up another 8 weeks after her CRB came through. apparently ofsted can only phone to chase things up every 10 days. My friend rang ofsted daily and in the end they gave her the phone number of the social worker looking at her files and she managed to get it sorted in a week once speaking directly to the social worker.
Hope you dont have to wait long keep phoning them daily

Oh no!!! Oh poo!! I would be really really angry if this happened to me, i would put in a complaint. I have waited long enough for everything already there is no way I will be waiting much longer for social services to get their act together especially when I have had nothing to do with them at all, ever.

Having done a bit of fostering in the past I do know that it can take a social worker six months to write a report :eek:
Don't ask me why , it's still a mystery to me. ( maybe they only employ reeeeally slow writers )

hiya i had the same problem i got my crb and my partner sback and had my mum crb'd as she is my emergency contact i have just recived my certificate this morning and i applied beginging of october it really is annoying to wait so long i phoned them all the time.
when they did get the checks back they said it had to be sent to headoffice who would clear it then the certificate would be sent mine went up to head office last week they phoned me 2 ask a couple of questions and my certificate arrived today

hope you dont have to wait to long i know how frustrating it is

Sorry Sandra only just catching up with this.

I agree chase them up daily, even if they get funny with you, they will soon get fed up and chase it up for you, if you dont remind them they wont bother!!!
