I was in the same situation last week, I only started minding at the beginning of September and that was for a little boy who is only here 5 hrs a week and then a baby girl who started 4 weeks ago.

I made a big effort with the paperwork, started their learning journals, and for the baby, had a summary sheet of the 6 areas of L&D and wrote down where I think she is and evidence.

I had only done 1 ob on the little boy but it had next steps on it.

My theme was Autumn but I hadn't really done anything for Autumn other than take them into the park conker collecting.

Ofsted graded me good with 1 area outstanding. She thought I had made a good start and understood that I hadn't been minding long.

The first few weeks with a child is just observing anyway.

Linda.
