Hi. Ive had the call to tell me Ofsted are coming, they have given me two possible dates and quite alot of notice which is great, However i feel that no amount of time is going to prepare me for my inspection. I was wondering if anyone who has had a recent inspection could give me a run down of exactly what to expect from when inspector arrives to when they leave.

Ive been minding for a few months now but am currently only working one afternoon per week. I feel like my paperwork isnt up to scratch and actually if im honest that im a crap childminder, I just dont even know where to begin with getting organised for Ofsteds visit.

Any help would be much appriciated.

Thanks. Claire. x

Take a deep breath, relax and believe in yourself!
Do you have a development officer? ours come and visit us before an inspection and help us prepare to see if we're missing anything etc.
I cant be of much help I've not had an inspection under eyfs yet.

Mine came onTuesday it was my first inspection. When she arrives make sure that you check her id. If you have a visitors book get her to sign it mine was quite hot on this. Although I think they are all different. She wanted me to have all my paperwork ready which I did. Observations learning journals whatever you have. Proof that you have communications with parents stuff like that. Otherwise she just observed me playing with the baby, feeding changing everything. Then she wanted to look around the house and garden to see where baby sleeps, plays outside, etc. She was constantly asking qustions and tapping on her computer. She was here for about 2 and a half hours. At the end she gave me the result of the inspection and told me what she thought.

Make the most of it and show/ tell her everything that you do that is good.

Good luck
