morning...am nervously waiting for a decision from Ofsted re changing my allocated numbers.
i've asked for 3 under 5 and 2 under 8 (total 5 under 8). I'm newly registered and only have 3 under 8 on my cert (stupidly only asked for 2 when i initially registered).
one of the mindees i look after is for only 20 minutes but i wondered what you thought my chances were?

Is it for a new child or one that you already have?

Unless it is a sibling of a child you already have then it will more than likely be a no. They say it is only for continuity of care that they will allow a variation no matter how long you have been registered. Do you have children of your own? if you do and they are under 8 that would be why your certificate says 2 under 8.

Your 3 year old would count as one of your 3 under the age of 5 hun.
If the other childminders have 3 under 5, then it may be because their own children are older. If they are not, they may have a variation to cover them.
I am not sure that Ofsted will allow it, because it is for a new child.
Good luck though x
