I have had my inspection today and got an action point!!

I am heartbroken because I have work so so so hard on everything. Ofsted woman was really nice but said she couldnt not put it in. I couldnt find my emergency permission for hospitals. I cried in front of her!!

Everything else was G'd/O'ting but its not the point. I am so angry with myself.

She said my planning, obs, profiles were the best she'd seen even compaired to any nursery, so that made me feel good, but just cant get that 1 negative out of my head.
:( :( :(

i can empthise with you I felt really devastated after my inspection but I learned to enjoy what I did get Good with outstanding areas.

However

CONGRATULATIONS

It sounds like you done really well and if that is all that went 'wrong' then sounds like you have done brilliantly

Firstly Well done you.:clapping: :clapping:

Secondly, the action does not in anyway say you are not competent to do a fab job. Wait until your report comes, read it and if you are not happy put in a complaint. If she has said she has no concerns and has also praised you for other areas then I bet it will read very well.

Treat yourself to a glass of wine and don't let this action put you off from celebrating your result.

They just have to pick on something to justify their job:D

Sounds like you are doing a fab job so dont you worry about it.

Repeat after me:

I am a fab childminder
I am a fab childminder
I am a fab childminder

OK:clapping:

If it makes you feel any better I got outstanding in all areas and the inspector said they have to write one thing to be improved.

Mine was that I had to write down consistently when children have no medication before they come to me for the day (can you imagine my diary now? x had no medication, y had no medication, z had no medication, neither did a, b or c... (I wrote in if they did have medication before meaning that if nothing was written the child had no meds...) Madness ! ;)

At east its over and done with now for you. Dont feel bad just pat yourself on the back for all the things you did well x

I think that you need to put things in perspective here

You have only just registered this year, your obs are fantastic, your planning impeccible so what is an action point? Loads of people have them?

I take it that you only got a satisfactory overall and that is why you are upset because it doesn't conform to the Safeguarding Children standard. Don't worry, put it all in place for next time and your outstanding will be there

There are childminders who don't get goods/outstanding at all.

Well done:clapping:

Thanks everyone, I feel much better today. I got GOOD overall with some outstanding areas. So at least that is something to be pleased about.

Joshie - I wouldn't say "I got GOOD overall with some outstanding areas. So at least that is something to be pleased about".

You should be pleased that you got a "good"!

I got a "good" at my last two inspections and was happy. My next one is due next month (ofsted are behind with inspections anyway but I just want to get mine over and done with). Even if I get a "satisfactory" I will be happy. To tell the truth I know I am doing a good job and have parents waiting for me so that's all that matters really.

She would have been shown my front door.
I have decided that i am not going to put up with any nit picking nonsense just so some inspector can meet some stupid rhetoric.

And i am not just saying that i really mean it.
