i had mine in june..i had activities planned (we were going to re pot some plants) but the mindees decided otherwise. They just wanted to play. Good thing really as it gave me chance to answer the inspectors questions.
The thing i did which i will do again is I made sandwiches that morning. Plated them up with cling film over. the fruit was cut up for pudding and all in the fridge. All i had to do was just whisk them out. No fuss. No hassle.

I'd let the children lead but have some things up your sleeve in case it all goes wrong.
The inspector will want to see a balance of play you lead and play they lead so it's good to let them choose.
Parsley that is a very good idea about lunch! I will do that next time.
Good luck!! :D

I'd do this too - don't try anything you've never done before and don't do things differently, the children may ask why!
I find it's easiest to give the inspector all my paperwork and then just get on with being with the children.
Good luck - hope it goes well for you

Good luck ladies! I hope it all goes really well for you all.
I usually make my normal plans for the week-I have these on display anyway, but make sure they involve all the childrens favourite things that I know will go well and you can get some really good feedback from the kids whilst doing them! Cheating, I know, but it works for me! I too, would have plans B and C up my sleeve just in case! I wouldn't try anything new either, I'd hate for it all to go wrong. :)

Good luck with your inspections ladies = great advice given already. The only one to add is keep calm - I was so nervous I saw the car pull up ,then dropped a lightbulb which smashed everywhere!

If you have anything on display in your hallway, point it out on your way through or you might forget to show her e.g. any children's work or photos.
Have all your paperwork ready for her, and she will want to see the LJ's of the children that are present when she visits.
If a parent drops off or collects while Mrs O is there introduce them to one another, inspectors like to talk to parents if they can.
Hope all goes well

I've got them coming Thursday! :( she wanted to come today which is my busiest days where I'm in and out all day. She asked if I had been sent a self evaluation form yet which I haven't. Do I need to find one?

I have accessed my SEF on line. But I think you probably need them to send you a password. I think you can get a copy of the form in free resources at the top of this forum which will tell you the sort of things that the inspector is looking for. Its a really long form. I don't think you will have time to complete it now. But it might be worth looking at.:)
