We are having our garden "done". A new patio and lots of new lawn. The landscapers are delivering all the stuff at the moment and it has just ocurred to me whether I need to inform Ofsted of this? There is side access to the garden so no one will ever be in the house, but obviously garden will be out of action for a few weeks - lawn for longer.
Will do a quick risk assessment in a minute, but do I need to let Ofsted know?

I usually give them a call when something different is happening and write a RA which I offer to send them (though they usually say no).
I hope it goes well for you! :D

I just did a risk assessment when we were doing a conservatory and the garden was out of use for quite a while - when I rang Ofsted they just told me to ring them when the conservatory was done and I wanted to use it (they didnt seem that interested in my garden being out of use though...)
No harm in giving them a call to see what their rules are today though

I rang when I was having our patio re-done this summer, and they told me to email the details to them - I just put what work was being done, how long the garden was out of action for and that I would use the park etc for outdoor play while garden was out of use. I didn't hear anything back but I think you have to inform them of the work if the garden is registered for use just the same if you were having work done in the house.
