Education Secretary Michael Gove today announced another step in the lifting of the bureaucratic burden on heads and teachers. The school Self Evaluation Form (SEF) process takes days out of heads’ time and can cost schools tens of thousands of pounds. The Secretary of State has asked Ofsted to ditch it. It is the next stage in a rolling programme of reducing bureaucracy for teachers and trusting them to get on with their jobs.”

I have just had this from an eyfs forum thingy i'm on - er, i'm sorry but why should schools get the let off????? most heads dont teach classes and would have all the nknowledge and know how to do this far more competently than me!!!!!!!! Primaries still have reception classes which are still under eyfs so how are they going to implement this???? this was from an online mag i think the link was (didnt want to put link just in case)

soooo, what do you all think???

Hmm interesting.

I presume they will still have to do some kind of self evaluation though??

i think if they are going to scrap it then they should do it across the board, not just schools

there was a self assessment element before the SEF was brought in
It was called S4.(i think it was a tory idea to start with)

I dont think the idea will be abolished....it will be re packaged as the "all new and improved" and we will have to get our heads round that...again...spend time and money on courses to do it...again...and at the end of the day it will be a pain in the :censored: ...again..

golly i am getting weary and cynical already....only been a cm for 6 months (but i have done the merry dance of education and NHS reforms....:D )
