just wanted to let people know..............I had read on here somewhere that I didn't have to do anything when my youngest reached 16yrs old as Ofsted would write to me the day after his 16th birthday and send me an EY2 to fill in...brilliant thought I.
Anyway this morning as I was doing paperwork I thought I would give them a ring and see if I could fill it in early ............mmmm...........my son is not mentioned on any of my info at Ofsted:(
Now I have been registered for 14yrs and have had several inspections where I know his details were all checked but no mention of him anywhere on their records:panic:
So just to warn people, do not assume anything with Ofsted but always ring to check!!

This happened to my friend who is a childminder she has had lots of inspections and her previous reports state husband, son & daughter. When she rang to inquire about her DD being over 16 as far as Ofsted were concerned she lived alone with no childrem and always has.

It has taken Ofsted nearly 2yrs to get the right forms to me to get my eldest CRB checked. She will be 18 in Jan!! :panic:

I had the same with my youngest!! Had forms through for my triplets no problem, so 18 months later was expecting forms for youngest as he was coming up 16.

Waited and waited and waited some more!! His birthday is just before christmas so gave them the benefit of the doubt that they had got held up in the Christmas post, but they still hadn't arrived by middle of Jan. Rang them and they said they had no record of him, even though I had been minding for 10 years by then and hubby and 4 ds' were on on my inspection reports!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmm:rolleyes:  ...........the adviser said it was probably because I was registered pre-ofsted with my local social services and the info never made it to their computer  .....oh well maybe the info from the child I took on last week will never make it into my records either.....I wonder if I'll get away with it?

I was pre Ofsted too - seems things have never been consistent. Did like the old carefree days of half hour inspections and less paperwork though :) and to think it used to stress me then

I have also had trouble-my eldest is 18 in nov and is still not properly checked! I rang them when he turned 16 and they sent the forms which i duly filled in and returned-thought nothing more of it. I don't have a certificate because i've been registered so long you didn't get them then, so now it is just renewed every 3 yrs, I didn't realise he was supposed to have one so didn't follow it up-they rang a few months ago and told me i hadn't had him checked, it turns out they lost all the paper work then and never contacted me again!! just done it all again....... will make sure we get the certificate this time-then DD turns 16 in january so will have to do it all again!! Sigh.......
