My computer got a nasty virus just before I went on holiday a couple of weeks ago, so I backed everything up onto an external hard drive and formatted the computer I have not got round to putting everything back onto the computer yet thinking it was safe where it was. Last night my son tells me the hard drive is not working at all and this morning I got the phone call telling me that my first inspection is next week. guess what I have lost everything risk assessments SEF everything I just want to sit here and cry
I explained on the phone that I have just lot everything and was told it is my problem, I guess my inspection is not going to go well unless I learn to type really quickly.
Not sure what to do first help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have some kind of independant computer repair shop nearby? Sometimes they can get the hard drive working again (been there, got the t shirt). Good luck!

I dont mean to be mean, but why didnt you have a hard copy of at least all your risk assessments and policies. The SEF after alll isnt compulsory, but you would have had something to show Ofsted.
I have had a horrid virus on my computer and it had to be completely wiped, the virus made it extremely difficult to save files to disc as it obviously knew what were trying to do, we managed it after an extremely fraustrating weekend, but everything I did had a hard copy anyway, so at least all wasnt lost

Good advice.
My computer crashed and I thought I lost all my photos and everything but I contacted a computer repair man out of the local paper and he fixed it and recovered everything.
Good luck

If you do need to ever retype loads of something very quickly get one of those programmes that allows you to speak the work into the computer, they work really good and it's very quick as it's talking speed!!! Good Luck xx
