.................................................. .............and it went fantastically well!!!!! :clapping: :clapping:

It was a great inspection. The inspector immediatley put me and the children at ease. She was warm, friendly & really brought out the best in us all. She got to see a glimpse of what its like here on a normal day.

She arrived at about 12.40pm though so REALLY wasnt expecting her. I have an hour at lunch where I watch the news & have a sandwich and a cup of tea. Id only just finished my lunch when the doorbell went. I had been sat on the sofa with one of my mindees who was dozing a little as we are just trying to knock her nap off in the daytime.

I went to the door expecting that it could of been my childminding co-ordinator as she was due to drop something round. When it wasnt and I saw her reach for her badge I was really scared.

I let her in, popped my cup & plate in the kitchen & turned off the tv. The lo I had slowley came round while I showed the inspector around. Then I made mindee a drink & a snack and got out what the inspector needed too look at.

Then my co-ordinator turned up! This turned out to work out great because the inspector was impressed I was clearly in regular contact with her. They had a chat & the inspector followed her out & asked if she had anything to add, because it would be considered.

Because its the new company doing it & no longer OFSTED, the bad news is she didnt know I had done a SEF! I had done a very comprehensive one so i gave her a copy of it. She couldnt apologise enough.

The afternoon went well she gave me soooo much advise & tips about lots of different things. She gave me plenty positive feedback for my strong areas. Then I had to do school run at 3pm, so the inspector asked if she could wait in her car while I went & that would give her chance to read my SEF. So I got back at 3.45 & she ran through her findings.

She finally told me my grade which begins with g but Im not supposed to tell you what it actually is yet! ;)

I am over the moon - what a positive experience! :clapping:

I feel empowered. If I had settled for the last inspection, my confidence would have been low. It was hard fighting it, scary at times, but I did it & because of it Ive got my drive back. My spirit that the last inspector really knocked.

I just cant thank my childminding co ordinator enough. Couldnt have done it without her.

I had it for my first few months of minding, then i appealed & knew I could face another & so had that feeling again. Ive probably felt it for about 6 months constantly!! :)
